A dagger’s affair

Who would have thought that the next time i’d be posting something here would be two years later. This blog which i started and died about the same time was right about when my one year of foundation at KBU ended. Eventually alot has happened since then… ( no doubt )

I resumed this thanks to some nudging from from a lecture of mine and i’d be dead wrong if i were to say i weren’t at all grateful to this mini-episode. I think this is great way to get our brain juices pumping apart from the everyday brain games we have about. Arduous some might think but what better way to get your thoughts or ideas across if it weren’t for this.

Back to college life, we’ve been assigned this nifty and nimble task of a dissertation study that would be due in no time at all. This time around we’ve been given the absolute freedom to choose absolutely anything we’d be comfortable about to conduct a study upon. Me having a penchant for urban issues and what not developed a prying interest for branding (just  like that).

Now, branding may have or may not have seemed as an issue to date seeing that every time we turn on the tv or even access to the internet, has every bit to do with branding whether we do realize it as a matter of fact. However unknown to many is how branding naturally reconstitutes the shape to a certain country. This is simply because, end of the day, it all comes down satisfaction. Not just anybody paramount, but all customers and that just damn includes you, me and right about every little homo sapien on this prejudiced earth.

Of course, at this point now we Malaysian’s are finally realizing the rising importance of branding and the need to be constantly positioned on the global map of attractive countries. As a constantly evolving concept originally focused on spatial and sanitation issues (etc) we have come to include an economic dimension directed towards international visibility.

However, we’ll leave all that for another day. Me having had in mind of producing a wondrous study of Nationwide Branding was told i was too ambitious (a lil’ ironic but i’d have to agree upon that) and hence reduced my scope of study to a certain level of City Branding through the means of architectural and spatial configuration no less also having to have been told that it’d take at least 3 years of study no less to draw up with a conclusion ( now I’ll have to give credits to my tutor for that as well ).

Long gone from that, i’ve finally settled down with Corporate @ Franchise Branding through the means of spatial branding and how a successful one at that can help stimulate an increased competitiveness  resulting in a positive impact in investment, jobs, visitors, events (etc). You can say I’ve come a long way from what i initially staked out to do but  nevertheless am quite content with my scope of study at hand.

The only affair i’m boggled with about now is the controversies that keep popping about my case of study. Whether or not I’ll be addressing those issues may be the key essence to this whole study or it may not be. Loads of burying in books and printouts i foresee, but pray all sails smooth as a cat filly.. :3

That’s a short one from me today. Do pitch in your thoughts on issues that may be linked to mine. I’d be glad to the same. Au Revoir!
